1:30 pm - Blair's product suggestion o' the day
Suave Professionals Bio conditioner. Works better than the $10.00/bottle stuff I had been using, and it's only $1.99.

Just wanted to share.

11:50 am - part III, woohoo
okay...

Leenielikescake: Eileen. Star-Imbri/Yumby person. I admire Leenie's faith and the way she can speak about it without sounding pushy.

Lovelette: Nicole/Ely! I haven't talked to her in way too long. She sort of resembles me in some pictures and it freaks me out. Loves Spongebob and penguins, so of course I think she's wonderful. She has a chinchilla and a biscuit boy and is now trapsing around Europe.

Mabith: Meredith works in the bookstore/coffee shop across from my office. I bought spiffy Edward Gorey postcards from her once.

Mashuren: I used to date Matt's uncle. That is totally weird. He seems to be growing up to be a really good guy (even though when I think of him, I picture a 12 year old)

Misfitina: Maura! Maura lives in H-Town. Which is sort of not a terrible thing, because one town couldn't take the two of us. Much in common with that one, there.

Moonborn: Nicole/Aphie. I'm dazzled by her. Physically and mentally, she's such a beautiful person. I just wish she realized it.

Narnee: I started reading Narnia's old journal from a link in a post on alt.gothic.fashion years ago. She moved from the U.S. to Scotland to be with her husband, which is just too cool.

Oncee: Bill! Possible cousin, definite friend. Puts up with my random "hey, let's get coffees."

Pinkstargoddess: Aubrey. Funky web chickie. has cool hair. Owner of Star-Shaped.org, hangs out on Yumb and generally rocks out. She loves Smashing Pumpkins, which makes her cool in my book.

Punkinpea: Sarah went to my high school, but she was a bit younger and I can't remember her from there. She is funny, a dancer, and takes really cool pictures, and she's DATING A CLOWN!

Purple_stardust: Renee lives in the farthest reaches of my state. She raises rats and has goldfish. One of these days we're going to do some serious glass plant touring.

Rosamundi: Elizabeth is another alt. gothic.fashion person.

Whistlefan: Yumb person. The only person besides Aaron to score in my area on the ultimate purity test! Woo WOO!

Willbloom: Dianne. Yumb person. Dianne is super cool. She just moved to Oregon near Krissy. She loves math and does super cool crafty stuffs.

and that's all of you, with a few community/specialty journals deleted.

You all totally rock!!!!!!!!!!!!

7:43 am - more!
Eurythmic_salad: Joe, Cindy's guy. Moved from Missouri to Pennsylvania to be with her. Aaah, love. Joe's a good guy.

Ferrety: Cindy's old journal.

Fragilehearted: Linda. Linda has the same taste in music as me. Can commiserate with my curly hair issues. was a Star-Imbri person.

Geekish: y0! Will is the shiznit. He owns Yumb. Will is tall. He loves Snoop and the bling-bling.

Haneli: Hanna's from Sweden. She's not around anymore due to circumstances beyond her control, but I miss her posts. Hanna's firm in her opinions, and I admire that.

Inchcafe: Jess'ca. Met her through Krissy. Another person that moved far to be with the one she loves, which impresses me. Awesome quilter.

Kashi: Kristal. My allergy-knitting-hairdye buddy. Recently moved to Oregon from Colorado. One of my closest online friends. I love Krissy and I need to meet her soon!

Katlynel: Swimmingly girlie. Don't know her personally and have never talked with her, but she impresses me.

Lafemur: Katie. Friend of 13 years now! Katie plays with dead things for a living. Lives in Tennessee now, and I miss having her closer because she's one of those people in life who you don't have to explain yourself to. Has been there through a lot.

More on my lunch break, probably

6:30 am - the friendslist meme from forever ago: all about you guys!
Okay, I'm going to write something about each person on my friends list, communities excluded.

ahem.

Angerfork: Tim! Krissy's Buddy! Yumb person. Don't know you that well, but your posts are great.

Aylara: Susan, Knitting person, her posts fascinate me.

Bruised: Robin. More like me than she realized. Very, very special person.

Chiad: Cindy!! Cindy will always have a special place in my heart because she went and saw the PENGUINS with me. Cindy rules!

Closertofine: Jamie. I've been reading Jamie's journals in one incarnation or another for...five or so years. Charleston person. We need to meet, darnit.

Corvus1970: Randy, Huntington Person. Cartoonist! Very talented guy.. Haven't seen him on IM lately, but very fun to talk to.

Crazyveigh: Heather. Reminds me frighteningly of myself at her age.

Crystalina: Crystal. I adore Crystal. One of those people who you can talk to about anything. I TMI her to death, and she loves it! hehe.

Cyberdjinn: J. Aphie's man-o. Computer guy. Great late-night conversationalist.

Darkefroste: My Aaron. I love Aaron so much it's scary sometimes. Me with a penis. Bitching buddy. We're AbFab together, and I would be lost in this world without him. Drunken Trading Spaces. Would be the perfect man for me if not for one tiny little problem...

Denisem: Denise. Local Person. Saw her in person for two seconds in Wal-Mart once. Hasn't been around much lately.

Discountsatori: Laurie. Former Star-Imbri person. Wonderful writer. Is going to Japan soon, swoon! Engaged. Georgia person, the land of my asshole father.

Okay, must shower and go to work. Will continue from the office.

Okay, the world must have come to a screeching halt. I'm wearing a pink shirt. Yes, pink, not black or purple. And blue jeans. I'm even frightening myself.

2:05 pm - Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Okay, why can't I just get a cold like a normal person? I've got ear infections in both ears, a sinus infection, and bronchitis. If there's one thing I'm good at, it's getting sick. At least I'm off work for three days, doctor's orders, plus monday and tuesday are my days off.

8:47 am - Geez, with the dying and stuff
In the grand tradition of this October, my stepfather's uncle died Sunday night. He wasn't someone I was close to, but wow, was he ever a cool person.

IJ was a big-time songwriter/lyricist in the 50s. He wrote for Frank Sinatra, and tons of those bands that started with "the" and ended with "'s" There were copies of his records all over the funeral home, and it was cool. There was an article from the 50s in Time magazine about him.

The funeral home was packed with what's refered to in town as "The Lebanese Liar's Club", 50 or so guys who met for breakfast every Saturday morning. As I walked around the room, looking at the flowers, I noticed one giant, outlandish arrangement bearing the tag "I will be thinking of him every day for the rest of my life. Condolances, Leslie Nielson" I'd forgotten that they were close friends!

Eastern Orthodox funerals are crazy, by the way. Much incense, holy water flung on the casket and moaning in Arabic. And this was just the visitation! I have this cold, and the incense nearly made me have a sneezing attack, which would have NOT been good!

Afterward, we went to IJ's apartment, which is so cool. Nothing's changed since the 60s. Eames chairs in the kitchen and a red vinyl restaurant booth instead of a dining room table. Looked at scary Lebanese food: they had all the stuff I don't like and none of the stuff I do...

I know I've rambled more about this than I did about my own grandfather's funeral..but I guess it's easier to deal with than his because it's not a close family member...

I also found out that my paternal grandmother has Alzheimer's disease, just like my great-grandmother did. I'm not too sure how to deal with that..I have huge issues with that side of the family, (read.. my father couldn't even call me to say he was sorry that my grandfather died.. I haven't spoken to him in two years now).
